In recent years, work done by Gintstvetmet in the beneficiation of non-ferrous metal ores was connected with research into the processing of non-ferrous metal ores having progressively worsening technological properties. Among the basic approaches have been the use of different methods of pulp preparation, modification, improving traditional and using new flotation reagents, as well as a series of other technological methods to beneficiate copper, copper-molybdenum, copper-zinc, copper-nickel, and polymetallic ores. Gintstvetmet has used its scientific-technical advances to plan and operate many beneficiation plants in the country - in the Urals, the Altai, the Caucasus and in Central Asia. At the copper-molybdenum plant of the Almalyk Copper-Molybdenum Combine (AGMK), Gintstvetmet joined with the plant collective to develop and put into operation a technology for selecting copper-molybdenum concentrate while steaming and finishing molybdenum concentrate, containing soapstone. They also were able to recover additional metals from discard tailings, jointly process slags with ore, initiate a system of supplying two ore flows (balanced sulfidic and difficult-to-beneficiate raw material) and reconstruct the second section of the plant. Proposals were made to reconstruct the first section of the plant and to develop new flowsheets in order to increase the recovery of copper, molybdenum, and particularly precious metals.
