In 2011, the authors wrote about a new modular technology to reduce downtime and failures and enable maintenance to on-going processes. The authors have now developed their technology further and in this article they will explain what has changed and what are the new advantages of their product. Among the tasks Which a plant must undertake in various sectors of industry are the extraction, manufacture, transport, distribution and disposal of solid, fluid and gaseous media (Figure 1). Such a plant is composed of a large number of components, such as pipelines, controls with drives, pumps and containers, heating and cooling systems, and power and control circuits. Many of these components are equipped with sensors which determine the current level of reference values and pass these on to various processing units via a data network, which covers the entire plant and may well have interfaces to other external networks.
