Hyme on stream

Last month Statoil and its partners, Core Energy, VNG, Faroe Petroleum, E.ON E&P and GDF Suez, began production from the Hyme oil field in the southern part of the Norwegian Sea. The Hyme project is the second of Statoil's 12 fast-track projects. The "fast-track" projects consist of discoveries made close to existing fields. In the longer term, the aim is to bring these projects from discovery to first oil within 30 months and Statoil are confident that with good portfolio management and good cooperation across business areas they can make a success of their current project. Hyme field, which is built with a subsea template tied into existing infrastructure on the Njord A platform is currently on schedule and within budget.
