China may be seen as a promised land for outsourcers, but it is vital to find a quality supplier you can trust. When Valve World visited STARD valves in Suzhou Mr Han Jianrong kindly outlined what outsourcers should look out for. First the good news. If you want to outsource some of your valve manufacturing activities to China then there are plenty of companies to choose from. The bad news, of course, is that it can be hard to gauge the quality and reliability of your new sub-supplier. Indeed, Mr Han knows of quite some Western companies who are hesitant to come to China because of tales of inconsistent component quality or even counterfeiting. "I can say that there are many Chinese valve manufacturers but relatively few are really able to produce OEM products.
