A great deal of information has been derived from this preliminary study, enabling the selection of a preferred solution to the city's traffic congestion issues. The project has the potential to kick-start the regeneration of the central and dockside areas of the city, as well as meet the direct challenges presented. The next stage will involve more detailed analysis of the route and construction methods for this technically-challenging undertaking.
