After entering the market in 2001, Herrenknecht HDD equipment is now in worldwide operation. As a market leader in the manufacture of Tunnel Boring Machines and Microtunnelling equipment, Herrenknecht has extended its product range for small diameters with horizontal directional drill rigs. With pull forces reaching from 600 to 6,000 kN (60 to 600 t), Herrenknecht covers the wide range of Maxi and Mega Rigs. Since introduction of the first 400 t Modular Rig in the Netherlands, Germany and Spain, more equipment is now in operation in large infrastructure projects. Herrenknecht now sees itself among the leading manufacturers of HDD equipment, supplying complete packages (drill rig, mud pumps, recycling units, transfer pumps, tools, drill pipe etc.) from one source together with full technical support to maximise performance.
