One of the most important and enduring decisions in designing or renovating a veterinary facility is flooring. More than any other building component, flooring possesses tactile, acoustical and visual characteristics that affect staff performance as well as client perceptions and expectations about a practice. "There are many things in a building that people pass by and don't use. But everybody uses the floor," says David J. Wyatt, CSI, CCS, CCCA of TC Architects Inc. in Akron, Ohio.
