摘要

In the last issue of the journal this year we are departing somewhat from our journal procedures to bring together a series of submitted papers that we have grouped under the heading of "All About Antibodies". The diversity of these papers shows the enormous influence that immunological factors play in hematology and transfusion medicine. The series begins with a paper by Elhence dealing with haemolytic maternal anti-Kp~b, and continues with the neonatal occurrence of antibodies with a paper by Jain which describes serological monitoring in a Bombay RH (D) negative pregnant woman. Still in the area of red cell antibodies, is the paper by Aly, giving us some insight into red cell alloimmunization in patients with sickle cell anemia in Egypt. This paper is followed by one by Kaur, reporting on the clinical significance of anti M antibodies and a paper dealing with anti E causing a fatal delayed hemolytic transfusion reaction by Hatano.
