Type and three-dimensional morphology of carbide precipitated inas-cast multi-alloyed white cast iron, which contains 5 mass/100 Cr,1-8 mass/100 Mo and W, 1-15 mass/100 V. 0-12 mass/100 Co and 1.3-3.2mass/100 C, were investigated using an optical micro- scope, scanningelectron microscopy ( SEM ) and x-ray diffrac- tion (XRD). The typesof carbides identified are MC, M_2C and M_7C_3. The morphology of MCcarbide is classified into three configurations: flaky, nodular andcoral-like. The M_2C carbide exhibits two morphologies: lamellar andplate-like. The mor- phology of M_7C_3 is rod-like or ledeburitic.
