Fitting a Blackfin Skey Protector

When we ran an article on the Blackfin skeg protector back in March/April 2009 we received spectacular reader response. You guys simply wanted to know more! Little did we know that a few months later we would be in need of a Blackfin skeg ourselves when our boat hit rocks on a fishing trip up north. The upshot of this incident was one partly-chewed propeller and a piece missing from the bottom of the skeg. It didn't take us long to figure out the answer was to fit one of the Blackfin Skegs - and a new propeller. However, since the boat was not being used it wasn't until a few months ago we undertook the project.
