With new 'must wear a lifejacket regulations' in the eastern states, DICK IUSSEN reviews the Aussie-made Stormy inflatable PFDs. Wearing a lifejacket in a boat is a pain in the butt, but the people who make these laws are experts at polishing butts inoffice chairs, thus we have no choice but to go along with it. Life jackets are hot and uncomfortable and there have been a couple of cases where children in far north QLD have suffered heat exhaustion brought on by having to wear hot and unsuitable life jackets. I believe that in NSW, Victoria and South Australia life jackets must we worn at all times in small boats while in QLD children under 12-years old must wear them also.
