摘要

We present the results of a study of the changes of the surface properties of the metallic oil-industry tubes as a result of the electric discharge in a liquid medium. The changes take place in the plasma discharge contact spot and are observed to a depth of 100-300 mu m in the material. This spot has high-contrast boundaries, which makes it easy to distinguish it on the surface of the article that is being marked - but it also creates the preconditions for reducing the corrosion resistance and the fatigue strength.
