MASSEY-HARRIS FERGUSON TRACTORS: THE TRACTORS OFFERED BY THE NEWLY AMALGAMATED MAJOR MANUFACTURERS

The principle tractor development of the merger period was the advent of the Ferguson 35 tractor and the M-F 65 right at the end of the period. These two tractors were in essence M-H-Fs first step towards a multi-horsepower range of tractors of parallel and world-wide design. This ideal was not to be fully realised until the advent of the MF 100 and 3000 series tractors in the mid 1960's. The M-H-F era was to see the major influence in tractor design shift from the UK to the USA, but seriously adopting Ferguson principles. New tractors therefore appeared a little earlier on the North American market than the British market.
