Processing Indigenous Raw Materials for Advanced Ceramics and Ceramic Nuclear Fuels

I have great pleasure in welcoming you to the 64th Annual Session of the Indian Ceramic Society in the twin city of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, which is popularly known as the IT capital of our country, where we have a number of units of the Department of Atomic Energy, Defence, CSIR and Space engaged in the R&D and manufacturing activities of advanced ceramics and nuclear fuels. The International Symposium on Advanced Ceramics (ISAC-2001) is the major event of the 64th Annual Session of our Society. We are fortunate to have amongst us several eminent ceramic scientists and engineers from India and abroad, who would be presenting "invited papers" on Advanced Ceramics for Information Technology (IT) and Engineering Industries and Ceramic Nuclear Fuels.We are grateful to Prof. Tummala, one of the most distinguished Son of Andhra Pradesh and India for agreeing to participate in the 64th Annual Session and deliver the Keynote Address in ISAC-2001. I am indebted to Dr. Chidambaram, my Guru, for readily agreeing to be the Chief Guest of the Inaugural Session.
