Frank Peter has spent his entire adult life in a wheelchair. Recently, the 41-year-old Niagara Falls resident has found a way to get back "on his feet" and onto the golf course. An occasional player in his teenage years, Peter was involved in a car crash in 1985 that severed his spinal cord and broke his back in four places. After the accident, he took up basketball and then tennis. He had a knack for the latter, graduating to the Canadian national tennis wheelchair team, but a rotator cuff injury cut that career short and diverted his attention back to golf. Peter played a few rounds in his wheelchair, but wasn't permitted onto greens, couldn't get into bunkers and had a tough time on holes with steep hills.
