GERMANY: Tronox Pigments GmbH Plans to Increase Sales Revenue by Over 10% in 2010

Tronox Pigments GmbH (headquartered at Krefeld) is not only surviving but flourishing after cutting loose from the parent company. Independent of Tronox Inc., the German company operates the 107,000 t.p.a. sulfate-route TiO2 pigment plant at the Uerdingen Chemiepark formerly owned by Bayer AG. In fact, the TiO2 plant here was originally established by Bayer in 1957. Kerr-McGee took 80% majority control in January 1998 and acquired Bayer's residual 20% interest three years later.
