The methodology and clinical observations used were as described for the first part of this study, but the present component was only concerned with 328 cows on nine farms. The mean heart and respiratory rates, body temperature and the blood parameters were within the normal physiological range. These measurements did not differ between the locations with and without geopathogenic effects. However, the mean heart rate was reduced after the use of the photon mat by 9 beats per minute. There was alsoan impression that the animals were generally more quiet and less fearful of external stimuli. Some blood parameters were also changed. Fattening steers in places with geopathogenic effects had lower body weights and increased limb circumferences compared to control animals. The use of the photon mat resulted in the fattening steers achieving a nearly identical bodyweight to the control steers. No effects of air conditions in the animal accomodation were observed, with or without the use of the photon mat. Air temperatures were slightly higher and the humidity lower during the use of the photon mat which were independent of test locations.
