The term usually applied to the engineers and scientists that work in the tire industry is 'tire technologist'. I have often thought this tide fails to do justice to the many outstanding scientists who have given their careers to the industry. So it is with real pleasure that we now see for the first time in the history of tires that tire science is becoming the name of the game. It is interesting to consider how this has come about in the last year or two.
