An economic downturn is not simply a time for reactionary cutbacks - for success on the other side of such a period, R&D investment is essential. At the same time as we are entering an economic downturn, the tire industry is being asked to meet a wide-ranging and challenging array of widely different legislation, including the European REACH regulations, the new tire regulations within the European Union, and the TREAD Act in the USA.
