Four Major Steel Mills Forecast Virtually Higher Profits For FY Ending Mar/07

Four Japanese integrated steel companies: Nippon Steel, JFE Holdings, Kobe Steel and Nisshin Steel, all announced March 1 outlook for fiscal year ending March 2007, each posting virtually higher profits than in the previous year. In the foregoing fiscal year each of them had larger-than-usual ordinary profits by posting profits from valuation of raw material inventories, which has been ceased in the current term. Taking this into account, higher profits were practically secured as in the preceding years.
