With imports of iron ore into China in January to June 2004 reaching 97.75 Mt, up by 25.28 Mt (34.8 percent) over the previous same period (as per the Customs-cleared Statistics of the country), the imports turned out to be expanding at a surprising annual rate of 195.5 Mt, almost 200 Mt. This high rate import is likely to give a serious impact on the volume available for Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and European countries. Literally, you cannot take your eyes off this China's vigorous imports of iron ore.
