Imports And Exports Of Nickels By China In April 2008

According to the customs-statistics released in China, the quantities of nickels ( nickel metal, ferro-nickel and nickel ore ) imported and exported by China in April of 2008 were as per the table attached hereto. The imports of nickel metal ( unwrought nickel ) by China in March of this year decreased but that in April recovered. The imports of ferro-nickel by China continued to decrease for the successive 3 months ( February to April ). On the other hand, the imports of nickel ore by China in April of 2008 suddenly increased and reached a scale of 1,995,000 tons per month, which came to the second largest quantity on monthly base in its history compared to that ( 2,278,000 tons ) imported in July of 2007.
