摘要

We are currently in a period of transition in our strip-till work — shifting from the process of verifying that it can work, to how to use it better in various irrigated crop rotations that include sugarbeet. For example, we started a new project in2009, going from a two-year crop rotation (sugarbeet/malt barley) to a three-year rotation that includes legumes (i.e., soybeans) encompassing sugarbeet, barley and corn. Strip till is being used in the beets, while the corn and soybean are grown under a no-till system when possible.
