Effect of Cold Plastic Deformation on the Structure and Deformation Behavior of a Submicrocrystalline Titanium Obtained by the Method of Equal-Channel Angular Pressing
Evolution of a grain-subgrain structure of titanium in the coarse-grained and submicrocrystalline (obtained by severe plastic deformation) states in the process of cold plastic deformation by rolling to 85-90 percent has been investigated by transmission electron microscopy. Parameters of elements of the grain-subgrain structure depending on the degree of deformation have been determined. The effect of cold plastic deformation by rolling on the thermal stability of the structure, mechanical properties, and deformation behavior upon tension of titanium in the two states has been studied. The influence of the structural state of titanium on the character of deformation localization on meso- and macroscopic scales upon tension is discussed.
