Resistance of the sheep scab mite Psoroptes ovis to propetamphos.

Between July and August 1995, sheep on a farm were plunged dipped 3 times in a propetamphos formulation. After each application a number of animals continued to show pruritus. These sheep showed characteristic lesions of active sheep scab and live mites, identified as P. ovis. The resistance was confirmed in sheep experimentally infected with the isolated mites.
