Support grows for federal bills to ban cosmetic animal testing and use of synthetic plastic microbeads in the U.S. More news in brief. FDA will hold a public meeting in advance of the International Cooperation on Cosmetics Regulation Sept. 10 at the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition headquarters in College Park, Md. The agency seeks "public input on various topics pertaining to the regulation of cosmetics," which may inform its preparation for the ninth iteration of ICCR. Requests to make an oral presentation at the meeting will be accepted through Aug. 27. ICCR-9 will be held Nov. 4-6 in Brussels.
