EC/REACH Bans Six Sabstances,Including Musk Xylene And Three Phthalates

Acting under Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals law, the European Commission has published its first group of substances to be phased out by 2015.In a Feb. 17 notice in the Official Journal, the EC says the six "substances of very high concern" are "carcinogenic, toxic for reproduction or persist in the environment and accumulate in living organisms."
