EU Prepares To Adopt Test Method Using Lab-Grown Human Skin,Not Rabbits

European lawmakers are expected to ratify an adaptation to chemical testing regulations that will prohibit the use of animals in skin irritation tests,according to animal welfare organization the Humane Society.Expected to pass through a yeaay vote by the EU Parliament and Council on May 15,the adaptation to the EU's Test Methods Regulation establishes a non-animal testing sequence called Reconstructed Human Skin as an alternative to rabbit tests.
