Long-serving Parliamentary adviser to the Society dies

A former government minister who was a Parliamentary adviser to the Pharmaceutical Society for 18 years has died.Gordon Oakes was a Labour member of Parliament for constituencies in the northwest of England from 1964 to 1997.He served as Under-Secretary of State for the Environment from 1974 to 1976 and as Minister of State in the Department of Education and Science from 1976 to 1979.
