COFCO to Construct PLA Plants in Jilin

China National Cereals,Oils & Foodstuffs Corporation(COFCO)says that it put an investment of RMB200 million in Yushu City of Jilin province in October 2007,to construct a 10 000 t/a polylactic acid(PLA)demonstration center.COFCO plans to construct several 100 000 t/a-200 000 t/a PLA plants in Jilin province in the next 3-5 years,forming a PLA capacity of 1.0 million t/a.These plants sites are expected to be selected in Changchun,Siping and Songliao.
