Melymacra, a new plant bug genus (Heteroptera: Miridae: Orthotylinae) inhabiting manzanita, Arctostaphylos Adanson (Ericaceae)

Melymacra, gen. nov. is described to accommodate the type species M. knighti, sp. nov. from chaparral in foothills west of the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California and M. apicalis (Van Duzee), restored status and comb. nov. (Macrotyloides Van Duzee),from chaparral in southern California and central Arizona. A lectotype is designated for Macrotyloides apicalis Van Duzee. Both species of Melymacra appear to be strictly associated with manzanita, Arctostaphylos spp. (Ericaceae).
