Replacing obsolete welding equipment

Fabricators and mechanical contractors who want to enhance manufacturing efficiency often overlook an obvious place for improvement: welding machines. Although welding usually is at the heart of the operation, too many fabricators focus instead on increasing floor space, adding new buildings, redesigning workcells, and purchasing new cutting and forming equipment. Welding equipment rarely is considered to be a contributor to bottom-line savings. However, older conventional transformer-rectifier welding machines, which are less efficient to operate than inverter-based welding machines, can waste thousands of dollars per year, per machine.
