Delphi seeks to commercialize resistance welding process

A new process could help simplify hollow structure welding, offering cost savings that manufacturers can't afford to ignore, said Delphi Corp.'s Ken Johnson. This welding technique, called annular deformation resistance welding (ADRW), is being validated by a consortium focusing on its use in heat transfer manufacturing. Johnson, manager of technology commercialization and licensing at Delphi, sees ADRW as unique, but with roots in conventional resistance welding.
