FMA names Jerry Shankel as president-CEO

In many ways, Jerry Shankel's latest professional advancement is a homecoming too. Originally from the Midwest-Alma, Mich.-Shankel has come from Texas to Illinois to fill the role as president and CEO of the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, International~(TM) (FMA). Shankel also is returning to the manufacturing industry, where he has spent much of his professional career. After working briefly in public accounting, Shankel managed the accounting department and later became the managing director of finance and administration for the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME). Later he was the associate executive director of finance and administration for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) in New York City.
