Graphite/metal alloy increases bushing life

American Cast Iron Pipe Co. (ACIPCO), Birmingham, Ala., manufactures many tubular products, including ductile iron pipe and fittings; fire hydrants, valves, and pumps for fire trucks; centrifugally cast steel tubes, static castings, and fabricated assemblies; electric resistance-welded (ERW) steel pipe; and spiral-welded steel pipe. At its plant in Birmingham, the company manufactures small-diameter (4- to 16-in.) ductile iron pipe. The pipe sometimes becomes misaligned as it exits the annealing oven. Rollers align the pipe correctly when the pipe exits misaligned.
