When installing a new boiler at its Gothenburg, Germany, municipal waste incineration plant, Renova had the choice of using carbon steel tubes, typically chosen for waste incineration boilers, or composite stainless and carbon tubes. In waste incineration boilers, the use of carbon steel predominates even at the points of highest corrosion. However, improvements in waste incineration boiler design to optimize operating conditions continue to place increasing demands on tube performance.
