ICC is happy to note that many of its recommendations (see the table below) submitted to Mr. Arun Jaitley, Honourable Minister of Finance, Government of India, have considered in the Union Budget proposals for 2014-15. SOME OTHER FEATURES WITH RESPECT TO INDIRECT TAXES PROPOSED IN THE UNION BUDGET 2014-15 ARE AS FOLLOWS: 1 Basic Custom Duty on Crude glycerin is reduced from 12.5% to 7.5% and crude glycerin used in the manufacture of soaps is reduced from 12.5 percent to Nil; 2 Basic Custom Duty on Crude Naphthalene is reduced from 10% to 5% 3 Basic customs duty (BCD) on Steel grade limestone and steel grade dolomite is reduced from 5% to 2.5% 4 Basic customs duty (BCD) on Battery waste and battery scrap is reduced from 10% to 5%; 5 Basic Custom duty on Coal Tar pitch is reduced from 10% to 5%;
