A man stands tall, clutching a basketball above his head. His face shows an expression of concentration; his muscles are taut, ready for action. We gather around him, talking in hushed whispers, our pointing fingers nearly touch his face and body. He is no ordinary man or, rather, he is in no ordinary state of being. The muscles and tendons along the right half of his body are sliced from the bone, sometimes as a whole and sometimes in parts. His small and large intestines are revealed, as are his lungs, liver, and ribcage. Half the skin on his face and head is removed to expose his jaw muscles and skull.
