Ayurveda: Alternative or complementary?

Ayurveda (pronounced ah-yer-vee-duh; literally meaning "life knowledge") or ayurvedic medicine is a holistic treatment strategy comprised of herbal medicines, special diets, yoga and relaxation methods, and lifestyle management. It has been practised in the Indian subcontinent for more than 5000 years but has been gaining traction in the developed world more recently, especially in oncology.
