Introduce a girl to engineering day

Stacks of newspapers and a little duct tape, along with some instructive guidance from working engineers, can reveal a lot about offshore platform design. They can also serve as catalysts for sparking a greater interest in engineering as a career. That's what 85 girls from three Houston-area middle schools discovered on a field trip to ExxonMobil offices in downtown Houston. The students were among more than 300 from throughout the Houston area who participated in Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day in February at four ExxonMobil locations.
