Proposal to ASCP Board of Certification for Consideration of a Specialist Level Molecular Biology ExaminationAnamani, Ayad, Bixenman, Gu, Hu, Kochmar, Pettersen, Yuhas, and Groszbach

AGT conducted a survey to gauge interest in a molecular biology specialist examination. The survey was designed to target genetic technologists, administrators, supervisors, managers, and directors. It was directly distributed to individuals holding membership in the Association of Genetic Technologists, the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) and the American Society of Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS), the Association for Molecular Pathology listserv members, National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) Diagnostic Molecular Science program directors, and the University of Texas M.D. Anderson School of Health Professions Molecular Genetic Technology alumni. These individuals were encouraged to forward the survey to others meeting the targeted population.
