SOME INTERESTING ALGAL TAXA FROM ALKALINE POND OF GURA VISHNOIYAN, NEAR JODHPUR (RAJASTHAN, INDIA)

摘要

The alkaline water bodies are a unique ecosystem,which are very distinct and in this ecosystem diverseorganism which are adapted to live in extremeconditions, are found to be present. Usually alkalinewater bodies show floristic types of algae like green, bluegreen, and some other desmids. The occurrence of algalflora, which has been collected from the nature andthose that have been found in the enrichment culturesfrom these soil inocula, are described in relation tophysicochemical characteristic of the alkaline waterreservoir. The physicochemical parameters slightlychange throughout the year, which shows a diversepattern of distribution of algal flora.
