Advocating for safer use of sexual enhancement products.

Improving the safety and quality of patient care has been a top priority since the seminal report released by the Institute of Medicine (IOM), "To Eir is Human: Building a Safer Healthcare System," which noted that as many as 98,000 preventable deaths occur in hospitals each year [1]. The principal focus of the IOM report was on healthcare mistakes within the hospital. However, another failing of the medical system that is often overlooked is inaction on the part of healthcare providers to minimize preventable sources of human suffering outside the direct scope of medical practice.
