Command and control (C{sup}2) systems play a vital role in modern warfare, providing real-time mission and battle damage assessment, as well as dynamic mission planning. C2 systems significantly improve a commander's ability to employ economy and lethality of force. At the forefront of C{sup}2 systems is the Theater Battle Management Core Systems (TBMCS). Developed by Lockheed Martin Mission Systems for the US. Air Force, TBMCS is the cornerstone of the modern Air Operations Center The 46th Test Squadron, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, performs development testing on TBMCS. This article details the challenges of collecting and analyzing network and computer performance data, developing a performance baseline and developing a model for predicting network and computer performance.
