Joint theater air and missile defense interoperability testing capabilities and challenges

The Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) is actively involved in the test and evaluation of Joint Theater Air and Missile Defense (JTAMD) systems. In an effort to increase certification assessment opportunities and to provide more comprehensive testing capabilities for JTAMD Ballistic Missile Defense Organization program managers and decision makers, JITC is currently developing a unique test asset known as the TAMD Interoperability Assessment Capability (TIAC). Additionally, the Naval Postgraduate School Monterey, California, is collaborating with JITC by providing various studies that may extend the scope of JTAMD testing. This paper describes current challenges, as well as planned and potential JITC JTAMD analysis capabilities, that will support numerous Commander in Chief exercises and tests during the first decade of the 21st century.
