GPS instrumentation made its debut on the test ranges in the early 1990's. It has proven to be a cost-effective source of highly accurate, worldwide, three-dimensional position, velocity and time. Today, GPS is widely employed as a preferred source of Time-Space-Position Information (TSPI) for most Test and Evaluation (T&E) applications. However, evolving GPS-based instrumentation capabilities and technologies provide opportunities for expanded end-use that should/must be considered.
