摘要

The American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) is undergoing revision in preparation for a fifth edition (DSM-5). The DSM-5 Work Groups have proposed many changes to various diagnostic criteria sets. Surely the most bewildering of these proposals is to eliminate what is known as the "bereavement exclusion" in the diagnosis of major depression (American Psychiatric Association, 2010).
