摘要

Mumps transmission can occur in hospital settings, and, as reactive measures are not always successful in preventing further cases, vaccination of healthcare workers is the key preventive measure.1 UK guidance advises that healthcare workers (HCWs) should be 'immune to measles, mumps and rubella for the protection of their patients', demonstrated by two documented MMR doses or serological evidence of immunity.2 In 2008 the Department of Health wrote to clinicians highlighting the importance of HCW immunity to measles following a hospital-acquired measles death.
