We read with great interest the Letter to the editor from Nicholson and Southern regarding our article. We would like to thank our colleagues for their comments and interest in our study, which described the satisfactory results obtained using the Integra? PyroDisk~R implant in a homogeneous group of patients affected by Eaton stage II and III trapeziomet-acarpal joint [TMCJ] osteoarthritis. Nicholson and Southern pointed out the potential of the PyroDisk? implant and extended the indications to patients with Eaton stage II or III osteoarthritis and an adducted TMCJ that fails to abduct.
