IEC Standard 60502-2 for high voltage cables is currently being reviewed by Standards Australia with a view to including any changes into the equivalent Joint Australian/New Zealand Standard. In March 2005, the latest edition of IEC Standard 60502-2, Power cables with extruded insulation and their accessories for rated voltages from 1 kV (Um = 1,2 kV) up to 30 kV (Um = 36 kV) Part 2: Cables for rated voltages from 6 kV (Um = 7,2 kV) up to 30 kV (Um = 36 kV) was published. Committee EL-003, Electric Wires and Cables, agreed that Subcommittee EL-003-02, Cables for Utilities, should review the changes made in this latest edition of the IEC Standard.
